The Music Man

As Cole gets older he seems to have developed a great fondness for music (as many children do). We are waiting for the day when he starts busting his own moves to his favorite tunes.

Luckily for Cole, folks from "Fundamentals of Music" come to his class each week and play for the kids. Cole has always enjoyed these visits but recently has shown more of an interest in getting into the act.

The photo montage below shows Cole "jamming" with the musicians.

We can only hope Cole's interest in music continues to grow!

9 Months Old

9 Months Old and Standing Tall

Cole is 9 months old today and enjoying every minute of it. At this point last month, Cole had just started crawling and within the past 4 weeks he has only continued to master the art and increase his speed (which has put his folks in a constant state of alertness). Taking your eyes off of the young boy for only a moment can allow him to slip into another room to go exploring. A zone defense is what seems to work with one parent picking up the target as the other calls out such phrases as "Coming to you", "Pick him up" or "Bogey at 12 o'clock".

While Cole has continued to improve his crawling skills, he added yet another item to his impressive bag of tricks. He is now pulling himself up into a standing position while holding on to something (table, couch, dog, etc). How he will get down from standing is always entertaining to watch. Some days he will very carefully drop to one knee and then crawl away while other instances see him simply fall backwards with complete faith that he will plop down on his backside.

As the weather continues to warm up, Cole is spending more and more time outside. While at school he loves to interact with his friends while catching some rays and on the weekends he loves to go for walks in either his stroller or wagon.

Cole spent the morning helping out Mom and Dad sell items at a garage sale and then attended his good friend, Ainsley Bennett's, 2nd Birthday party. Here are a few pics from the day.

We can't wait to see what the next month holds.

As always... here is the updated look back at 9 months

Bath Time... revisited

Bath time is much more of a pleasant experience than it once was.. Cole seems to enjoy his time in the water and has recently been having the urge to try and stand up while being washed.

Cole is now pulling himself up into a standing position which he uses to his advantage while trying to help out with tasks such as...

Checking the temperature of his bath water.

Enjoying bath time with Cookie Monster.

Gettin clean.

All bundled up!

Big Bear

A few weeks ago we were lucky enough to be invited up to Big Bear by our dear friends the Scelfos (Mark, Mary and Evan). The entire family, including Cooper the Dog, headed up the mountain to spend some relaxing days in the cold and snow. Lucky for us the weather turned out the be gorgeous and the temperature much warmer than it has been in previous weeks.

Cole and Cooper experienced the snow for the first times in their lives and, to be honest, didn't seem to have much of a reaction : )

Here are some shots from the weekend.

Crawling

Yes... we know it has been over two weeks since Cole has started crawling but we hope this video will have made the wait worth while. As stated on Cole's 8 month review, he surprised both parents and teachers at school by starting to crawl on Feb 20.

Since then he has kept us on our toes by increasing speed and having the determination to keep returning to an item or location after we have redirected him :)

The video below was taken the morning after he first started crawling.

Cole continues to explore all of his options and even today spent most of the morning contemplating how he could get up some stairs. By the afternoon, he was hiking up and down the 4 stairs to the "loft" area at school.

Here's to the next adventure!

Bed Head

Cole seems to have a bountiful head of hair for a child of his age. And with that much hair comes some great bed head in the morning and after naps.

Here are some shots we captured Saturday afternoon after Cole woke from his afternoon nap. With a little styling gel, a blow dryer and some extra time in the morning, Cole could be sporting this "do" on a daily basis.
