Class is in Session

In the days leading up to Cole's transition into the Young Toddler room at the Sony Child Development Center back in early August, we (Cole's folks and teachers) could see the excitement in his eyes as he contemplated the prospects of a larger room, a more spacious yard area and kids that were older and not as fragile as they are in the infant room. Fast forward... two months later Cole is in heaven.

Each day is filled with new activities and exploration. Cole comes home having had a full day filled with hard play, a long nap and more often than not wearing an entirely different outfit than the one that started the day (a pure sign of a good time).

While we are working on a video to show off the room and all it's perks, here are a few shots from last week at school.

Missing Maui

Here is our last look at a wonderful vacation.

To our surprise, Cole has been looking back fondly on the trip. He LOVES watching the Maui Boy video. Every day after dinner he comes to the computer and wants to watch the video over and over again. As the video is coming to a close Cole will use his sign language to sign "more" and reach for the mouse to play it again. It is amazing to see him remember the trip as he lights up while watching the sunset and then start to dance in his seat as the music starts.

We hope that Cole will like this photo slideshow as much as the first look back on a fantastic and relaxing trip.

We hope you enjoy it as much as Cole does.

Maui Boy

After a long week of getting back in the groove at work and school, we have been able to reflect on our wonderful getaway week in Maui.

Cole seemed fascinated by the ocean, he loved standing outside the condo and just watching the waves roll in while listening to the soothing sounds (in his 14 short months we had not yet taken him to the beach in LA or SD). It took 5 1/2 hours on a plane to travel 2000 miles to introduce Cole to the Pacific Ocean... much easier than having to deal with the LA traffic and parking at the beach :)

Here is a glimpse of the fun that was had by all.

We will post another slide show once photos from Nana and Pop Pop arrive.

Back from Paradise

Cole and the family (the extended family - parents, Nana, Pop Pop and Oma) have all returned from beautiful Maui. A wonderful time was had by all and a longer extended video and photo slide show are still to come but we did want to start with a teaser of the fun recap that are soon to hit the site.

First of all, we can say that Cole did wonderfully on the plane. On the way there he kept himself busy by watching Elmo DVDs, walking up and down the aisle (making friends all along the way) and playing peek a boo with Pop Pop in the seat behind him. On the way back (a red eye) Cole slept the entire way. Magnificence.

The condo location was UNREAL. The sliding glass door opened onto a beautiful lanai which was 15 feet from the water. The beach was 200 yards away and pools and other wide open spaces for Cole to run free were just a short distance from the back door.

Here are a few shots to get what will most likely end up being 2-3 posts.

A relaxing morning
