Dance Class

Since Cole enjoys music and dancing so much we decided to put him in a movement / dance class once a week while he is at school. This past Tuesday he enjoyed his first session... needless to say, he loved it.

He was able to jump and dance around to music while using confetti and had props. Luckily one of Cole's caregivers was nice enough to snap some photos and put together a collage for us.

Cole realizing that the rhythm is going to get ya.

Cole's Christmas '07

Better late than never...

Cole celebrated his second Christmas in Burbank surrounded by family (and gifts). Nana and Pop Pop came out from Arizona to join mom, dad, Oma and Zeydeh for a nice quiet Christmas.

Cole is still getting used to the entire concept of Christmas and to be honest wasn't completely sold. It is a lot a pressure for an 18 month old to be surrounded by gifts and have the full attention of everyone in the room. So Cole decided to open his gifts on his own terms and timeline.

Cole would enter the room, open a gift and then decide that he was "all done". He would take a short break while everyone else could open a gift and then when the time was right would come back in and open another gift. For being a bit overwhelmed, Cole handled it very well and he seemed to really enjoy his gifts. He liked them even more when they were all unwrapped and he could take his pick of what to play with next.

Below are some highlights from the day.

Saying Goodbye

It is with sadness that we share the news that we lost Cooper this weekend to cancer. We know that he is currently running in fields of soft, sweet grass, chasing squirrels and lounging about on the softest most comfortable bed there ever was. As heartbroken as we are, we know he is out of pain and happily acquainting himself with the infinite beauties of Heaven.

After Cooper had a tumor removed this past July, we were able to have 5 more months with our boy. Our concern was for Cooper’s quality of life and when his body began to break down, despite treatment and medication, we knew it was time. He is now with all the other doggies that have given us all so much unconditional love over the years.

As we have said so many times, Cooper has been our perfect dog and has given us so much joy. We hope we have done the same for him and that he’ll be watching us from his new home.

Cole is too young to understand what is happening and has been asking about Cooper... "Doggie? Doggie?" We found a wonderful book called Dog Heaven. and have been sharing that with him while explaining that he is gone now and living in heaven.

Below is a tribute to our "first born". We miss him terribly.

Dancing Machine

Cole enjoys the dance. There are a few songs in particular which will trigger the initiation of the bounce and swing which soon evolves into the jump and turn. And at that moment... Cole is a dancing machine.

One of his favorite songs is the theme song for the kids show "The Backyardigans". He loves it.

Below is a myriad of instances in which Cole rocks out... all to the same song.
