Cole's First Christmas

Cole and family just returned from spending his first Christmas in Arizona with his Nana, Pop Pop and Great Aunt Pat. This trip included Cole's first plane ride, only his second night away from home and most importantly his first taste of a Black family Christmas.

At only 6 months old, Cole seemed to enjoy exploring the concept of opening gifts and often had more of an interest in the wrapping paper than the gift inside. He received many fun new toys to play with but more interestingly Cole found a unique gift that was only made more perfect in it's timing. All he wanted for Christmas were his two front teeth... his two front teeth... his two front teeth... and he got them. On Christmas day his bottom two teeth broke through the surface to make an appearance.

Here is the video recap of the Arizona Christmas.

Happy New Year... We will see you again in 2007!!

6 Months Old

6 months of "Merriment"

Cole is 6 months old today. Christmas eve. He feels very happy to know that his birthday and Christmas fall almost exactly 6 months apart, therefore allowing future opportunity to split up his year with receiving gifts. He is weighing in at 16lbs 9oz and measuring out at 27 1/2 inches long.

Cole has spent the month mastering the art of the roll over. He is a regular steamroller and uses is new found skill to inch closer to toys that are just out of his reach.

His progress with the doc band is going extremely well. He has been sporting his fashionable hat for two months now and it looks as if we will be wrapping it up by the end of January. Three months = a round head. We will take it.

As this update is being written, Cole is enjoying being the life of the party and having all the attention focused on him while visiting his Nana, Pop Pop and Aunt Pat in Arizona. His travels included his first plane ride during which he did swimmingly by sleeping through the entire flight.

We all wish you a wonderful holiday season and a Merry Christmas!!

Here is a look back at the last 6 months.

Cole's Rockin' Holiday Party

Cole (and his folks) had themselves a small holiday gathering with some close friends a week ago. Cole was reunited with his friends Rian Ford and Gaby Shiffman (whom you may remember from previous posts .)

When it came time to snap a few pictures around the Christmas Tree the environment quickly turned into a scene from a Hollywood premiere. Flashes popping, paparazzi... err... PARENTS calling names in an attempt to garner attention... Pure Madness.

The kids did extremely well and seemed to enjoy each others company. Cole even went as far as giving Gaby's hair a nice tug...a new thing for Cole, keep the hands away from the hair :)

Below are some video highlights from the night.

Cole takes his first plane ride this weekend to go visit Nana and Pop Pop in Arizona where he will experience his first Christmas.

Happy Holidays from Cole and the folks!!

Random Shots

As the holidays creep ever closer, work and home life is getting crazier and crazier which makes updating the blog a bit more difficult. Therefore, in order to feed the fix we have uploaded some "random" shots from the past few weeks.

One word: CARROTS!!

Reason #1 why to strap the boy into his bouncey chair

Power to the People

Church Boy

Sorry for the delay in between posts... been working on the Christmas letter and that has been taking up blogging time.

Over Thanksgiving weekend, Cole was baptised into the Catholic Church. Surrounded by friends and family, Cole did extremely well as he had oils placed on his head and chest before having water poured on him. Facinated by the water Cole was stretching his neck to see where it was going after it rolled off of him.

Cole donned the "Black family baptismal gown" worn by his great grandfather on down the line, to include his own father, while being supported by God parents Mark and Mary Scelfo.

Below are some video highlights from the ceremony.

So now that it's official, Mom and Dad can start throwing some of that good ol fashioned Catholic guilt his way :)

Thanksgiving

Cole celebrated his first Thanksgiving last week. Joined by his folks, both sets of grandparents, his aunt Carol and Uncle Larry, Cole watched in envy as all present took part in a wonderful feast. Cole was very talkative and attempting to convince his folks to allow him just a small taste of his Oma's famous turkey and stuffing.

But alas he was limited to his rice cereal and bottles to fill his belly.

Here is a shot of Cole before he got all gussied up for the big day

Much of the day was spent getting to know his first cousin, once removed Elaine who has done some growing of her own since their
last visit .

Here are some pics of the Cole and Elaine

A shot of Cole and his Zeydeh napping after a big Turkey dinner.
