Cole's dad is making every attempt to expose Cole to the joy (and a little bit of heart break) of College Basketball.
Yesterday Dad's Alma Mater The University of San Diego, a mid major program playing in the WCC (with Gonzaga etc), took on the storied University of Kentucky Wildcats at legendary Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky.
Now for those of you not up on your college basketball history. UK is the winningest college basketball program of all time. 49 NCAA tourney bids (most in history) and 7 national championships (second all time). USD has been to the NCAA tourney twice.
As they say... any team can beat any other team on any given day. And, yes, Kentucky is having a bit of an off year but still... USD, a 12 1/2 point underdog, won 81 - 72!!!
Cole is lucky enough to know some UK Alumni personally so he extended an offer to have a small gathering to watch the game. Lucky for him his USD sweatshirt had recently been washed so he was able to wear it.
